JY-UQ124U: Great Value, Snappy, and Convenient

Thanks for your continue support.

This blog is a Products Review from Joying Customer:

After days of research into low cost full screen double din car receivers, I settled on this unit from Joying. It is a popular implementation of the Hui Fei type unit from China [1], with some of the best interface design changes. [1][...]
I've taken the unit and customized it by adding Google Maps, Spotify, Netflix, and Amazon Video. Combining those Apps with the unit's built in bluetooth phone and playback and the need for a external media player has disappeared. I tether the unit to my iPhone, could also easily get a cell adapter and add the unit to your family data plan.

The included GPS is accurate. Both Google Play and Amazon App store work great on the unit.

I've also extended the features of the unit by purchasing a ELM327 OBD2 adapter, which allows me to get real-time information about my engine, including any Check-Engine status codes.

Overall the unit is very fast and responsive, and I would recommend it to all of my friends.

AMAZING CAR STEREO - PERIOD: Installed in 2008 Chevy Silverado

Thanks for your attention to Joying, professional over 11 year manufacturer.

Today, let's enjoy some effect pictures in 2008 Chevy Silverado

Review from Birdman:
All I can say is Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood, JVC, excreta…. better get over their belief that their OS is better then the others and EMBRACE the android platform FULLY for their future!!!! They also need to upgrade their screens because this is far superior to even their upper-end receivers that sell for $1,500.00. This is truly the ALTIMATE RECIEVER experience. Email, Torque Pro, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Direct TV streaming… It does it all!!! Even Microsoft Office if you needed it….
(Note: If you don’t root it, the biggest thing you will have to work with is managing the 1GB of storage made available for installing apps. It lists 16GB’s total internal storage but the available 12GB+ is designated as FLASH memory for storing music, videos, dash DVR, etc.) You will need to move most apps to you Micro SD card. Oh - Also, I tried a “Maestro Rr” kit for retaining my Steering controls and was not successful. (They do not have the flash available for these yet.) *The chimes, blinkers, and even OnStar “on the Maestro single speaker” work.
I didn’t root my unit… I didn’t modify it in any way and still love it!! This is a TRUE ANDROID HD receiver!! My iPhone works great and links up via Bluetooth quickly. Rearview camera works well… I just added a 64gb Micro SD card in one of the two Micro SD slots, installed a USB/3.5mm Video-in plug on the dash, and another USB/Mic-in Plug in the glove box. (Internal mic on this unit works well) As you can see in one of my pictures… You can download games from the Google Play store and use a Playstation 3 controller for the ultimate gaming experience!! Very COOL!!! My son loves it!!! ' Enjoy… I would guess the newer model from Joying with the up/down button volume is just as good. These are a great value and Very NICE!! You won't want to leave your car!! :)

Real Review for Joying JY-TQ123

Brand: Joying

I purchased this receiver because I have a Toyota and I wanted a head unit which properly fit the over sized 2din opening Toyota uses. I have to say it fits great and the flat black finish matches the dash perfectly. It looks just like a factory radio. A nice bonus is no complicated wiring. Toyota plugs on the unit make it an easy install. There is no need to cut into the factory harness. I did have a small fit issue where the radio extended about 1/8" too far forward and the Toyota cover trim piece would not go back all the way. I have informed Joying of this issue. The remedy was to just slot the stock mounting bracket a little. One important point is get the correct radio for your vehicle. It will make life a lot easier. Joying makes many models.

I think there is a lot of bang for the buck here. The GPS works great. The unit is very responsive with the quad core processor and the display is sharp and clear. Only when the sun falls on directly on it does the display get washed out. I think this will happen with almost all displays though.

I have a backup camera installed and like others have said it works right away as soon as the shift lever hits R. I also installed a front camera and it is selected with the A/V button.

On the audio side, I have heard the hiss others have mentioned. I think it is bluetooth interference occasionally. This unit works much better when playing music off the micro sd card. When you start car and unit initializes music starts playing where it left off. When I used my iphone with it I had to wait for pairing then hit bluetooth button and then push play button. The sound seems cleaner without bluetooth involved.

The phone functions work fine. Calls are clear and people have no trouble hearing me. I have been using it about 4 weeks now and nothing has happened that makes me regret getting it. Should that change I would gladly edit my review and say so in detail.

Overall I think it's a good value for a little over $300. Is it perfect, no of course not. It is not an $800 radio either. I am glad to have saved some cash to upgrade the old factory speakers.
