How to share mobile network to Android Head Unit

When we are outdoor, it has no WiFi nearby. How to make Joying Android Head Unit connect network?
I record the process step by step, and share the images.

1. Picture 1, Close the WiFi , and set my phone to 3G data. Then click "more"
2. Picture 2, Now, as you can see in this picture. I click "tethering&portable hotspot"
3. Picture 3, Turn on the "Portable hotspot" , and "set up portable hotspot"
4. Picture 4, After I click set up portable hotspot. Then, I set the password "123456789", and click "OK" and save successfully.
5. Picture 5, I boot the head unit. And open the "setting" of the unit. 
    Turn on  "Wi-Fi", this unit searched the network "MI 3-54891"
6. Picture 6, select MI 3-54891, now you need to enter password
7. Picture 7, Enter "123456789", and click "connect"
8. Picture 8, Obtaining IP address
9. Picture 9, Connected
10. Picture 10, Open the page successfully.

Everything you could ever want in an Android 7in head unit!

We make films so having one of these units in our hands only made sense to pick up for the type of work this unit can do for us on the road and for entertainment in the head rest rear monitors we have.

On to the review:
First of all CarJoying has been around for a LONG TIME, over 11 years now. They produce the most stable and versatile systems on the market! Thy have more online video support than any other radio or head unit mfg in the world! And you can watch the videos while you install or update firmware right off your android phone!

No matter what questions you may have you can find the answers online 24 hours a day!

We downloaded all the video (how tool's) that we needed, and installed them on a 64gb thumb drive. We purchased a 4 port USB female line connected multi port from Amazon, plugged it into the accessory USB cable on the head unit, and got access to all 4 thumb drives right off the back as the head unit will see them, accessing the training videos we uploaded to one of them for the time being.

Sitting out side my office I could also connect to the WIFI without any trouble and then update the head unit and test drive its speed at Quad Core. This thing RIPPS!!! Very fast and does not drag in connectivity to the software, GUI, or the internet! The touch screen is a dream! Very stable and you will love the way things move around! Remember your Office or Home WIFI, connection speed if too slow will damper the ability of the head units speeds, if not up to par. We have a fast office connection.

The radio install for this was done on a Nissan Xterra, and it took about an hour, as we carefully ran the wires for the mic *which is included* (and callers BTW, can not tell we were using it when we got and received calls via Bluetooth uplink from the Android phone the the head unit), we tucked the GPS wire inside the trim next to the mic wire also, so it all looks very professional.

(NOTE)The wires are long enough to install in a SUV.

We received the correct adapter harness for the Nissan Xterra, as we did ask the seller to include the correct harness and they did, it is very well made and everything snapped together without any wire cutting or soldiering. The wire labels on the system are instructive and you will have no doubts about where things go when you install the head unit. Remember to disconnect the battery on the car for safety sake and then hook it back up once your ready to boot the head unit for the first time.

At boot up the GUI is very easy to get used to. If you have an idea of how to use your android phone then you will love the functions of this head unit. For the price the quantity of features make this head unit a real bargain!

We downloaded 35 apps from google while in the office and put those on the thumb drive. Use the app installer on the head unit as it works like a charm. We also put an app on it that allows us to BLOCK the microphone so we can have privacy when we want it. The unit runs all the apps we installed without any problems. Music that was uploaded to a 32gb micro disk was inserted in the slot as well as over 75 albums were uploaded to a 64gb thumb drive. The system plays them all without any problems. We would suggest that you download an app that will give you the ability to adjust and enhance your Graphic EQ needs as the head unit does not give us the type of settings we wanted.

The GPS and maps are fantastic! You will love all the features while driving and the view this head unit offers while you drive!

Don't forget to remove the protective cover over the touch screen, as it looks like it is supposed to stay there but its not. We are now getting ready to add a DVR front cam and a rear cam. OBD2 dongle, and Antenna Amp Booster from Joying and Amazon.com

The only modification we will have to make to complete the functions of the head unit, will be to add a 22" smartphone seat rail (also sold at amazon) to allow safe and seamless viewing of the head unit and android smart phone side by side. We have no need to use a suction cup holder for the phone as it just makes sense to pair the unit and phone side by side now.

We can't say enough about the customer service that CarJoying gave us! The time difference from the west coast to Hong Kong allows email response to begin at 5:00pm PST as it is 8:00am in China at that time. Communication between the seller and ourselves was very helpful and the instructive. Very professional and kind towards there customers!

The only thing we can add to this review is that you should also download apps that clean up memory, protect you from malware, virus protection and any other software that will protect your unanimity if you need too, its like having your personal computer right in your dash board!! So protect it as if it were a PC.

If you have any reservations about the these android 4.4.4 HU's that CarJoying sells and you have an Android smart phone, lay those concerns aside! You will be glad you made the decision to pick one of these baby's up!

Below is the experience of using JY-UQ124D:

  5 stars, great unit.

1.Sound quality is great, no hiss at all, and drives the factory speakers just fine.

2.The included radio app is pretty good. 

3.The included Amplifier app is great. Allows you to set the EQ however you want.

4.You can download any App or Widget you'd like from the Playstore, as it is FULL android.

5.Blue tooth works great. Tested it with an iPhone 5 and 6, my ZTE Speed.

6.I use the internal microphone and have no problems, although it does come with an external        one and a place to plug it in on the back.

7.Torque works with my Elm 327 bluetooth OBDII dongle just fine.

8.I use Google Maps instead of the included navigation, but I have WIFI in the car. If you don't      have WIFI, Google does offer downloadable maps now.

9.You definitely need the wiring harness for your specific vehicle, and most likely an antenna          adapter.

If You Want a New Android Car Stereo for Your Toyota Camry

Hello,

I have a question about installing this radio in my 2009 Toyota Camry.  My Camry is the base model and does not have the JBL sound system and does not have navigation.  

The wiring harness connections are easy but there is one single factory wire that plugs into the factory radio right above where the am/fm antennae plugs in.  The connector is blue, round and looks just like the am/fm antennae connector only smaller.  What is this wire for and where do I plug it into the new Joying unit? 

Answer: 

a.You just need to connect the "white round connector" to the '"Radio-ANT" (please note red circle)

b. Please wrap up the metal part of blue connector (smaller one), to minimize electronic interference

2. It can also support the Steering Wheel Control of your car.

You don't have to buy any accessories.

You just need to learn and set the buttons, then the steering wheel control can work on this stereo.
